Intro to Glass Fusing

2-day weekend
Learn how glass acts under various heat conditions with special attention to design, compatibility of different types of glass and kiln firing procedures. Students will be introduced to hot glass, warm glass, cold glass, a brief history of warm glass, fusing and slumping.

• Develop basic skills in cutting glass
• T ools and equipment
• Preparing the kiln for firing
• Keeping a fire log
• Fusing and slumping techniques
• Compatibility testing
• Annealing
• Troubleshooting
• Health and Safety

Registration Fee

$300
Registration fee includes, all instruction, glass, fittings and other materials, use of kiln, grinder and all hand glass cutting tools.
You will make four or more projects - a glass coaster, small plate, bowl and a vase.
